(aka: single section binding / saddle stitch)

A stack of paper is folded into a section, stitched and adhered into a cover. The pages lie flat when open.

Saturday 14th February/ 10am to 2pm

Friday 21st August/ 11am to 3pm

Skill Level: beginners & upward

Workshop Length: 4 hours

Number of Participants: 6x

(please note workshop will only go ahead with minimum participants)

Make to take home:

• 2x A5 Notebooks - 1x hard cover & 1x soft cover

  (all materials are provided)

• About paper grain and weight

• How to fold paper into sections

• How to sew a single section book

• How to trim pages

• How to use bookbinding tools and materials

• How to make hard covers

• How to adapt these techniques to bind at home

Workshops over 3 hours will have a 15min break. Full day & 2 day workshops include (additionally) a 30min lunch break. Tea & coffee are provided.

The Binding Studio is at 731 Scenic Dr, Henderson Valley, Auckland 0612. There is off street and on street parking available.

Please note there are no public buses to this area. The closest public transport is to Swanson Train Station. An Uber from the train station is approx $20.

This workshop will only go ahead with a min number of participants (or at TBS’s discretion.) You will be refunded in full if numbers are not reached.

72 hours notice is required for cancellations (you will be refunded your payment minus transaction charges.)

Cancellations under 72 hours will result in a 50% refund only.
